Unexpected Compliment

A rare moment of pride. My son picked out one of the slips in our family gratitude jar and read it without hesitation. His reading is really coming along. But it was conclusion that had me smiling more than anything. I don’t think he intended to compliment my writing:

“Mum your Chinese writing is so good.”

Two strips of blue paper containing hand written messages in Chinese. The first, written in dark black pen, reads 感谢妈妈每天早上跟东元、东文玩儿。爸爸。 The text on the second strip is written in pencil and is less legible but shows signs of well-formed characters.

I have to keep working on it though. His writing (second strip) is catching up fast.
